Ariana Resources – Q3 2026 Activities Report, a gold recovery Buy

Ariana Resources (AAU) commences its “Quarterly Activities Report Ended 30 Sept 2026” describing itself as “advancing towards gold production at its 100%-owned 1.6 Moz (pre-tax NPV10: US$1.056 billion) Dokwe Gold Project in Zimbabwe” – seemingly in exasperation at a 1.3p share price, £35 million (equating to $47 million) market cap.

FDM Group – “consultants assigned to clients has increased”, but how materially and what about the financials?…

Most recently on information technology consultancy staffing group FDM (FDM), in August with the shares falling back down below 120p I concluded the valuation and outlook meant just on the recovery watchlist. What of now a “Trading Statement” including “momentum in customer engagement has continued, and at 31 October 2026 the number of consultants assigned to clients has increased to 2,070” and the shares currently up in response but to still just above 104p?

Video: ‘Massive Upside’ In Oil Stocks & The Iran War Restart

Writer Josef Schachter says that despite ongoing conflict, crude flows out of the Persian Gulf are running above pre-war levels—Saudi Arabia is even discounting barrels into Asia—yet refined products tell a different story. He says that LNG, sulphur, nitrogen, and fertilizer exports remain constrained, and diesel shortages persist as Ukrainian strikes on Russian refineries remove key supply from global markets.

The grand final voting - win a week at the Greek Hovel contest, Darren has it in for his employer!

I think that our in-house crazed socialist Darren Atwater agrees with Emma Reynolds MP that employers are vile evil scum, not real workers. Well that I am anyway. In the semi finals my shorting suggestion easily won its heat. And why the hell not as within 7 hours of publication, the advisor to Valereum had quit over the $32 billion gold mine fraud and its shares were suspended. They will never trade again. Surely that makes my entry the winner? But Darren insists that 4 non TW entries must also be in the final so we have a final of five. Vote early, vote often, vote for the only logical winner below.

Tom Winnifrith bearcast: ending 3 years of hurt tomorrow, the threat of legal action & what the mid terms mean

A slam dunk oil sell for Christmas

Oil could well spike before Christmas and that might be seen as a reason to go all in on oil stocks. The reasoning is that once the Republicans get a mid term thrashing Trump will see that the only way of securing his legacy in his last two lame duck years, facing a hostile House, will be to double down on Iran.

Panmure: Amaroq now 98p target 165p, Maarmorilik comment

I am not sure this note from broker Panmure adds much to yesterday's news but you can find the note below.  I stand by my view that by late 2029 when Amaroq (AMRQ) has 3 mines in operation the shares will be as high as 400p. They won't get there tomorrow but as a buy and hold sleep sound investment it is perfect.

JD Wetherspoon may be explaining economics but it is relying on a non-economics point to gather support for its position. Perhaps unwittingly, JD Wetherspoon explains how much more productive supermarkets are than pubs. If the nation wanted to consume beer as efficiently as possible it would ignore pubs and would buy all its beer from supermarkets. That would be best for economic growth and catastrophic for JD Wetherspoon. It makes sense, therefore, for JD Wetherspoon to appeal to our emotions, to emphasise the "social fabric" of pub life and park its economics lesson for a moment. We are reminded that capitalists don't often promote capitalism.

The figures are possibly even worse than this, there are also beer taxes and other taxes. I saw an interview with a publican the other day who said after all these taxes he makes 20p profit on a £6 pint of his 'better' beer. The destruction of the hospitality trade and that is what it is, a planned destruction, is deliberate and until we have Reform UK, who are headed by businessmen, one of whom loves a pint, running the country this will continue. Virtually all retail and pubs will be shut by 2030 under Labour or Conservatives.
