Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, and no plans to initiate any positions within the next 72 hours. I wrote this article myself, and it expresses my own opinions. I am not receiving compensation for it (other than from ShareProphets). I have no business relationship with any company whose stock is mentioned in this article.
I have made it clear that I believe that even without an escalation of Ebola, the balance sheet weakness of African Minerals (AMI), the debt laden POS AIM Casino listed miner founded by convicted heroin dealer Frank Timis, will be its undoing. Today the company tried to put the best possible spin on pretty dismal interim results.

tom,
why do you call everyone that doesn’t agree with your opinion a moron, and no i am not a quindell shareholder!
you don’t have to insult others, just because they hold a different position to you! the bb morons i will give you, but there are reasonable polite comments posted on here, not insulting in any way, and you refer to them as morons!
i held african minerals, in at 16.5p, out at 25p, i think that was good business. Is your definition of a moron someone who invests in a stock that unfortunately goes south?
if so, i would also like to bring to your attention a few stocks you said buy, thanks to your tips, shite investments thus far!
1. totally, down 54% on tip.
2. wishbone gold, down 84% on your tip.
3. inspirit energy. down 24% on your tip.
4. ariana resources, down 36% on your tip.
5. leyshon, down 42% on your tip.
so credit for the stockpicks that have advanced, of which you like to remind us of! however, you also have those mentioned, and more, that have tanked!
i’ve looked back through this site, and there is a history of ‘up on this tip’ and ‘more to come’ etc, etc. however, no mention of the tips that have tanked! strange that? must have slipped your mind, because i’m sure as a credible journalist, you would want to give a balanced view?
So, does that make you a moron? as you have put your name to stock that has performed less than impressively? glasshouses and stones come to mind!
strange as it may seem, i do like this site, even though it has cost me a few quid (re your tips)!! but the lack of balance, and continual insulting of perfectly reasonable comment, does it a massive disservice.
how about your next piece on this site contains some humble pie? i’m sure it won’t appear, and you’ll deflect the comments made here, and drop a few insults in for good measure, but i’d love to be proved wrong Tom!
repy to follow….?

Given the events of 2.5 years ago I have eaten more than my fair share of humble pie. Some folks want me to maintain that diet forever, flaggelating myself as a failure in everything. But you know what that is not the case.
Yes small cap tips can go up or can go down. You highlight some of our worse tips although your maths is wrong on the only 1 have checked so far (WSBN) – way off pal.
You ignore all my good tips. That is the nature of your analysis – unbalanced.
Overall my tips have a good record = they are on average up. That is a lot better than a BB Moron Index.
BB Morons
1. Ignore facts
2. Insult critics -play man not the ball.
3. Tend to attack me with bogus stats about my tips or even accuse me of tipping stocks I have not tipped and ignore all my good tips.
4. Have a penchant for owning stocks that are obvious frauds.
5. Lile threatening me personally and posting bogus reviews of RMPC.
As I have noted numerous times most BB posters not morons. Look at comments on prior AMI piece to see morons in action

tom,
firstly, thanks and respect to you for replying to my comment.
the point was not to highlight your bad calls, but to acknowledge we ALL make duff calls at times! Making a wrong call, doesn’t however make us a moron.
I think we may have to agree to disagree on what defines a moron. For me, it is somebody who comes on and makes personal, insulting, or threatening comments. Somebody who holds a different position as to the the direction they believe a share may go, personally, I don’t think is a moron.
AFI. I think Evil is more than fortunate to have so much publicity when he decides to take a position on a stock. But what are friends for!
You picked me up for not mentioning your stock gains in my piece. If you look back I did give you credit for the stocks that have gained. the point of my piece was to highlight the winners get too much attention, whilst the losers go into hiding, reason enough for not listing them all individually! (and there are a good few winners, nipt, ukog, stand out performers at the moment).
I think the best position with AMI is to trade the volatility, the last couple of days have been very rewarding. Long term i think 0p is pushing it.
The mining sector is not for the faint-hearted at the moment. AMI biggest threat is not only the falling ore prices, but RIO and BHP ramping up their production and overstocking the market, as they can still make a profit above $45/$49 respectively. If the ore price does stop its slide (unlikely as it may seem) the shares in AMI and others will gain.
re the prices on your picks, they were on a buy/sell basis at the time I read the tips, viewed the sell prices yesterday. I note some have moved positive since then.
How about a Shareprophets stockpick portfolio update every 6 months?. This would give you the opportunity to highlight all the runners and riders and how they are performing. It would fill the void that currently exists, and highlight all the good picks you make throughout the year too! Just a thought.
