Fully-listed investment in Gold companies (and other precious metals) Golden Prospect (GPM) announced the final result of its subscription rights exercise last week. Out of around 17 million rights to subscribe for shares at 35.94p, approximately 7.7 million were taken up, leaving 9.3 million up for grabs, and left for the trustee to see to exercise or sell, if appropriate (after costs). In the end, that second part was abandoned – with the shares at or around 36p to sell, it wasn’t worth it. So it is bad news, right? I’m not so sure – in fact, I think it is good news.
