Outsourcery (OUT), the POS AIM stock run by serial business failure Piers Linney of Dragon’s Den infamy has announced a refinancing package to stave off bankruptcy. Well at least to postpone it. But the level of dissembling defies belief. Truly Piers if you told me that 2+2 = 4 I’d ask for independent verification.

Good article Tom, I saw the RNS this morning and thought that the options were a piss take. The fact that Mr. Linney is so condescending on Dragons Den makes all of this even more outrageous!

I have owned and run a cloud services business for 14 years and built from zero to £2.2 million turnover with 8 staff, sold it to a french group and then bought it back after they trashed their business. We have since been rebuilding a smaller but profitable business that is growing well. My business mod for online backup was replicated throughout the uk and Europe in 2001-4. I know a little about cloud services…! I have never fully got the Outsourcey story though. Unless the govt and ms links really going to bear fruit and they know something others dont then it looks like they gonna need a heap more cash. He would of been better to buy and build exiting small Cloud businesses with all that cash. Cloud is now simply a utility service to businesses unless you are highly specialised, margins are falling as are costs to run cloud businesses but acquisition costs of customers always high. The numbers TW has scrutinised is v helpful as its about cash burn at the end of the day this one. Doesnt seem too promising unless rabbit can be produced

I don’t get all the commotion about cloud services – I mean it’s hardly a new technology. I say this as someone who as a kid loved the cult TV series Monkey, and that harks back to the 1970s!
“Born from an egg on a mountain top
The punkiest monkey that ever popped…”
Ah – memories!
