We tipped Stanley Gibbons (SGI) at a 225p offer price on the Nifty Fifty and with the shares now at 310p we are – dividends included more than 40% ahead but following yesterday’s AGM statement we still see material upside in the shares.

Just imagine having 100 million worth of stock in something as boring as stamps ZzzzzzzZzzzzzzZzzzzzz……Just shows you what a boring lot we are . It should be illegal to collect them on grounds of cruelty to stamp albums . I knew a lady who had a large collection of around 50 albums and a large pool of loose stamps still to sort . People just used to give her more and more stamps, because they knew she collected . It was like a cathartic handing over of their own depression in taking part in such a nerdish ( whisper it ) shameful occupation . The last 10 years of this ladies life were largely depressed by the humungus and ever growing task overhanging her ie the pool of loose stamps still to sort and classify .
Black Jonny , Black .
If anyone cares to write in defence of stamp collecting I shall promise to try to read it without falling into a self induced coma …………I thought not .
Never in the history of mankind have I ever been more surprised at the success of a share as Stanley Gibbons .
Gentleman of Share Prophets I salute you for fathoming the unfathomable.
