Earlier this week my colleague Gary Newman argued HERE that Gulfsands Petroleum (GPX) might be worth a punt on the basis that it could jump if matters in Syria were resolved. Having called this as a sell at 111p HERE and again at 43p on January 10th HERE I disagree. Here’s why.

I am with Tom on this one although we dont always agree . The Syrian assets are worth nothing in the present circumstance and they are burning cash drilling holes else where and finding nothing very much .
Its all if buts and maybees
I read the piece in spread bet and its shite ……… play the ball not the man and I might pay some attention to you.

TW. The short term issue is cash. Or lack of it.
LT who knows what will happen in Syria. My thought are not just the wild rantings of a Zionist. I did study ME politics at Uni and like to think I know a bit about it.
But the LT may be a way away and meantime a placing is inevitable. Why buy ahead of that?

To any body reading I would wish to point out that my second post is actually in reply to a rather ill advised post from someone obviously trying to promote another site that has subsequently been removed by the editor . Hence it may look as though I am as thick as four planks when infact it is only two planks that I am actually as thick as . Accuracy in the number of planks equivilent to my intellect or lack of it is something not to be misrepresented therefore this minor clarification was required . I am now off to find a mole hill ………….
