Last week I broke the news that Metal Tiger (MTR) was working on a placing and that Andy Thacker at SI Capital was the broker doing the placing. I dont make things like this up and gave Mr Thacker a chanjce to comment before publishing. I was lambasted by BB Morons for making it up and was told the company would phone me over the weekend to tell me I was wrong. There was no placing, Metal needed no cash. I was accused of market abuse for saying there was a placing. Well guess what?

Duck and Dive
You were right about the placing – but wrong in that “it seems likely that it will be at a material discount to today’s 4.5p offer”. Consequently, the SP seems to be closing a tad higher than the 4.5p placing price and it may be that some PIs will have lost money by taking your advice to sell.
Of course, there might be another placing waiting to happen at a discount to 4.5p but that’s unlikely – in the short term at least.
And you might argue that the warrants issued to the placees effectively amounted to a discount. But MTR’s SP may never reach the trigger price of 9p so it’s a moot point. Most PIs won’t be fretting about warrants which will only kick in after the SP has doubled.
I know nothing about MTR and it may be a turd. But it looks to me as though existing PIs’ interests have been better served by the BoD than by your scare story.
TW I said placing and named broker. Morons said no placing. In terms of FACTS i was right they were wrong. My assumption it would be at a disxcount was an assumption not stated as fact. I got that wrong. The debate here is on FACTS and that is why the morons should apologise & send me ouzoGary Newman
Had a few taking me to task when i mentioned a placing coming on April 6 – not based on anything I’d heard etc, but purely looking at cash inflows/outflows, plus what they likely needed to further progress the projects they’re involved in (short of selling off investments of course from that side of the business).
I’m surprised that they managed to do so as high as 4.5p though and all credit to the company for getting it away at such a level. I do still think that it is vastly over-valued though at this stage, but it isn’t the first on AIM to be, and certainly won’t be the last either!

Credit to Tom, and credit to MTR.
Tom said MTR should raise now, given the SP increase (a lesson BOOM has ignored, sadly). Tom said they’d be mad not to; they’ve done exactly that and heeded his advice. I’m not sure what the opposite of a ‘red flag’ is but let’s call this Green Flag number one. Oh hang on, that’s the lot that rescue me when my car breaks down. Maybe another colour then.
Even better they’ve raised funds at the mid price, not a discount. And with selected HNWI’s not a bucket shop (yes, you can call this the “Walsall rat pack mark 2” if you like, although I have no idea where the new investors are located, hopefully not somewhere as grim as Walsall). That’s two more Green Flags in my book.
So in the current climate of fundraising for junior resource stocks they’ve done what Tom suggested, raised money from sensible shareholders at a sensible price – that’s a bevy of Green Flags all round I think?
Tom called it (pretty much) spot on, and MTR did exactly the right thing and raised money at the right time, from the right people. This was textbook stuff and should be applauded.

Yes but your all missing the point . Its a piece of shite that is not worth 2p never mind 4.5p
The future is priced in for the next decade . Its “assets” are non producing and speculative . It owns a few shares and thinks its being clever speculating on AIM with shareholders money . It could all go horribly wrong and probably will . Better to do the investing yourself and then you only have yourself to blame .
