In a September announcement I noted as ramp fodder, Motive Television (MTV) announced an intention to develop TabletTV for Apple TV. I was going to buy some , but decided it was far too ill liquid ,as so few shares are in issue that I could get stuck in . Makes FTE look like virgin snow ;-)

Albeit there is some meat to this announcement, the share price can’t rise. As soon as it goes up a little, Bergen dumps another 50m or so shares – and will keep loading up as long as MTV keeps breathing. And with another £400k of debt to convert, that means a further 3 billion shares to be dumped if my maths is right – assuming that MTV stays alive that long, which is about as likely as Cheryl Cole shagging TW.

I did note a headline on a news stand that said “Cheryl” has marriage problems . Perhaps this is Whining Froths big chance ! ( apple ogies to the deluded lefty, who I am sure has a plan involving a sharp knife and a certain type of vet procedure, should the need arise )

So this is the guts of the new announcement:

This beta version of the TabletTV App for Apple TV will enable users who have TPod tuner antennas in the United States to download the Apple TV version of the App, and use the TPod to watch available over-the-air networks and local channels on their main televisions via Apple TV.

In other words MTV have made it possible to watch normal broadcast TV on a TV, via two extra boxes. This is bonkers. No-one buys an Apple TV to be able to funnel broadcast TV through it. The TPod itself may have some niche uses but this new app is just a feature for the sake of it.
