Indeed, it’s great to see SAL recovering from its difficulties last year (I’ve held the shares continuously for approx. 3 years, so am finally back to breakeven, but in profit when divis are included).
One thing to bear in mind is that, chastened by the 2014 profit warnings, management are now instructing brokers to prepare forecasts on highly conservative assumptions – i.e. they don’t include any additional contract wins, and assume that existing contracts which come up for renewal are lost. Therefore, broker forecasts should be seen as the worst case scenario, and in reality we should expect them to thrash these forecasts in 2016 & 2017 in particular, once the Network Rail contract has come in.
They’re good, entrepreneurial management, well worth backing in my view, despite the hiccups last year – it goes with the territory with micro caps I’m afraid!
