Hello Share Squidgers. Just where is the Lloyds share going? May I humbly opine that it will go a lot further than it has already done in the last week or so – even if the latest rise in value has been pretty remarkable.

Agreed mostly Malcolm. I’ve done quite nicely out of Lloyds and it seems set fair until the next financial crisis.
I’m out at the moment hoping the Govt sale will bring it back down but as you hint that might not happen.
The next dividend announcement is probably going to offer an attractive yield also, at which point the big institutions, will probably jump back in. Maybe even Neil Woodford will take a look. Damn.

Sorry to be off topic but I need a breather having been – ahem – consumed with all this New World nonsense (not chancing it I hasten to add), and – as sacrilegious as this may sound – I think the argument that his plays were all down to Francis Bacon isn’t entirely without merit. Think about it – the Withnail-esque glamour of “a trained Shakespearean actor” versus someone who’s done a bit of Bacon. It’s the name.

Thanks Marvers. Nice to know someone agrees with me. Spaggers – I think it was the Earl of Oxford who wrote the plays, not Bacon who was far too busy as a statesman and inventor of the fridge. It was unlikely to be Will the actor, as not one word of his plays has ever been found in his own handwriting. It was frowned upon for the aristocracy to write plays in Elizabethen times, which is why the Earl of Oxford would have had to have found somebody on the boards to claim authorship. Just a theory, though.

“Just a theory, though.” But an interesting one that seems perfectly plausible. Actually, I was once short changed in a pub in Stratford-upon-Avon but now isn’t the time…
