Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, and no plans to initiate any positions within the next 72 hours. I wrote this article myself, and it expresses my own opinions. I am not receiving compensation for it (other than from ShareProphets). I have no business relationship with any company whose stock is mentioned in this article.
Banking isn’t necessarily a sector that I’d be rushing to take positions in at the present time, given the state of the world economy, but Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) still interests me at current levels.

What are you advising readers of your tip TRIN at circa 20p do now that the share has fallen to 5.5p ?
Gary Newman
I wouldn’t have carried on holding once it became clear that the financing deal wasn’t going ahead as promised to be honest. Obviously a lot has changed since I wrote that piece – including no longer buying the Centrica blocks. Not sure I’d be selling now though if I was holding – took a loss on that one myself – at the time 3000bopd for that market cap looked a decent bet, but screwed themselves with that $20 million failed offshore drill, plus falling oil price. Like any small AIM co was speculative and not for gambling large amounts in. Hopefully some of them recovered the losses on some of my other ones such as EUA which went up nearly 200% by the time I tweeted it as a sell at 1.85 (sold a load myself then but have since re bought at around 1p for the longer term). Certainly can’t expect to get them all right on AIM and the more speculative ones tend to either succeed or fail dramatically. I think a lot of the analysts probably got TRIN wrong as well from much higher SP levels!
Hope you’re having a few good ones.
