Hello Share Tweekers. I recently wrote about RBS (RBS), the old Royal Bank of Scotland, observing that the share price now is still only 4% of its previous high. That previous high was over £9 and was reached just before the bank crisis of 2007/8.

Yeah but …………….. its Scottish ……….. and I respectfully remind you that we English have committed to:-
1) Reinstating Hadrians Wall
2) Re introduction of the Highland clearances
3) Porton Downs development of a “Highland Super Midge” with enhanced biting parts , to decimate the local clans.
4) Scattering Anthrax randomly on Scottish Islands because ……. err ….. their Scottish
5) Any surviving Scots population to be deployed in a historical recreation of the battle of Flodden Field
6) Lip filling surgery for Nicola Sturgeon .

Basically, disagree. You can put your mortgage on the fact, that if there are any huge ‘bad debts’ flying around in the Universe, RBS will be the largest holder of those debts ( it just has a knack for them). Massive fines for miss-selling ( anything basically), coupled with massive fines for market ‘abuse’ ( being kind). Impairment charges of £B’s over the foreseeable future. When the Scots breakaway ( when not if), RBS locates to London, the Scots close their a/c’s with RBS ( not known how many a/c’s this would be). SNP forms new Scottish Bank, with a new currency, The T’mac, sub-divided into 100 Bits ( Bitumens for the formally educated) We all know the streets of Scotland are paved with Gold. There are much better investments than RBS out there.

The Scots will only vote for independence is they can become a full member of the EU, with the Euro. As that will never happen, the Scots will never vote for independence.
If the EU UK referendum throws an exit vote they may get another vote for independence, they will still vote to stay within the UK
