Cynical Bear covered Duncan Soukup’s Thalassa Holdings (THAL) previously on ShareProphets (see HERE) and concluded that it was not the bargain he first thought it was, highlighting a few oddities along the way. Not least of his concerns was that Thalassa – supposedly an operator in the oil and gas services sector – ended up with about a quarter of the shares in Local Shopping Reit (LSR)! LSR has been disposing of its holdings and proposed a Member Voluntary Liquidation to return the cash, which Thalassa blocked. Now Thalassa has launched a takeover offer.
I first wrote about Duncan Soukup’s antics at Thalassa Holdings (THAL) two months ago HERE and it’s worth an update with the aggression level’s stepping up at its corporate battle with London Shopping REIT (LSR) and also worth covering what I imagine would have been a pretty strange exit interview.
Until quite recently, I was contemplating Thalassa Holdings (THAL) as a rare buy pick for me; however, further digging, particularly around the antics of the Executive Chairman, Duncan Soukup, and the recent odd investments have led me to precisely the opposite conclusion.
