Shares in specialist 'STEM' skillsets staffing company Gattaca (GATC) most recently closed at 125p and today a trading update in which CEO Matthew Wragg is “pleased to report the group is trading in line with current market expectations” and that a “strategy to invest in business development is starting to bear fruit, with two large client extensions and two more Managed Service Provider wins for the group in H1 and a growing pipeline”. So what of a currently down towards 110p share price?
Hello Share Seekers. My choice today sounds a bit like those TV space operas from the ‘seventies. But Gattaca (GATC) is a jobs recruitment consultant. You will have heard there’s a skill shortage. Try getting a plumber. Though this enterprising enterprise (Enterprise - get it?) could be able to take advantage of an employee shortage in the art of STEM.
'STEM' skillsets staffing company Gattaca (GATC) has issued a trading update including that it “expects to report continuing underlying PBT of £2.5m for FY23, ahead of expectations… intends to recommend a full year dividend in line with its policy of 2.5p per share, accompanied by a one-off special dividend of 2.5p per share… intends to launch a new share buyback programme with the intention of returning up to £0.5m”. With also the shares currently up to 103.5p, good news then?
“Specialist STEM staffing” company Gattaca (GATC) has issued a trading statement emphasising half-year “NFI expected to be £22.7m (H1 22: £21.6m)… expects to report statutory net cash at 31 January 2023 of £21m (31 July 2022: net cash of £12m)” and “the shortage of candidates plays to our key strength of deep knowledge and understanding of our sectors and niche skills”. So what of a current share price response to 77p, down 15%?!
Previously writing on engineering and technology staffing company Gattaca (GATC), early this year with the shares falling to around 90p I concluded, though I’d continue to monitor for meaningful trading improvement, at best on the watchlist. That has proven sensible, with the shares most recently closing at 79p – and now its full-year results.
Previously writing on engineering and technology recruitment company Gattaca (GATC), in November with the shares falling below 180p I concluded house broker forecasts suggested possibly reasonable value but that the company’s recent performance and its outlook meant I’d wait for a further update on trading before reconsidering from the watchlist. Now a further trading update...
