Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, and no plans to initiate any positions within the next 72 hours. I wrote this article myself, and it expresses my own opinions. I am not receiving compensation for it (other than from ShareProphets). I have no business relationship with any company whose stock is mentioned in this article.
As a guest writer on this site, I don’t comment often these days, but I hope when I do I make it worthy of reading, especially as hydrocarbons and commodities, have long been my focus. It’s an interesting space currently, not to put too fine a point on it. The conflicting signs pull us in many directions, or more to the point on net balance the market seems to be largely ambivalent of events in the Gulf. I find this very surprising on a fundamental level. Except I don’t – we are in an investment climate very comparable to January 2020 in my view.
