Hello Share Mongers. My house is furnished with vintage stuff. This is because my past was more enjoyable than my future. And I like to be reminded of when I was a young blade. So I feel a bit unwell whenever my wife approaches Ikea with her credit card in hand. Actually, it’s my credit card, which makes it worse.

Malcolm,
I agree this is an interesting share and have held in the past. It has a good dividend when coupled with special dividends and the company has posted good growth as you note. The question is how much of the future growth is already priced into the share price in an environment when data increasingly shows the economy as fragile. I would note that the locations where Dunelm is NOT present certainly give a strong upside to future growth opportunities, but at these prices, I am wary. Perhaps the share offers a trading buy in the coming year?

It also dispenses fine coffee and cakey stuff in a quiet (well, Muzak-free) environment – at least, the branch 30 seconds from where I used to live did – and makes a pleasant change from the usual high street contenders in which to unwind for half an hour or so.

Ikea …………. yuk ………. its shite . What you want is a house full of solid wood . Lock up a bit of carbon in your living space . Quality will out ……… plus you can rub solid stuff down when it gets a bit tired and refinish it . Ikea is for fashion victims on a budget . Terence Conron would turn in his grave .
