I start with some macro matters, base rates, house prices, the madness of Malcolm in buying housebuilders, etc. Then it is on to Currys (CURY) where Chris is wrong about the shares and where my experience as a customer is not good. Then its cash crisis ahoy at Colin Bird's Bezant Resources (BZT) and finally when is it a good time to stand down as CEO and what can it mean, I refer to FinnCrap (FCAP) and to Pod Point (PODP) PS I reckon that FinnCap is due another profits warning PDQ as is its proposed merger partner Cenkos (CNKS).
On 29th April 2014 Rosslyn Data (RDT) raised £10 million at 33p as it joined the AIM sewer. As I demonstrated on this website, the prospectus prepared by Cenkos Securities (CNKS) was grossly misleading and it has been downhill ever since. Cenkos is still there as Nomad and broker after numerous (lack of) profits warnings, a CEO who forgot about his involvement in the porn industry, numerous bailout placings and other fun and games. I wonder how much coke & hookers money Cenkos has made over the years. The shares are now 0.725p after another awful trading statement today.
Thanks to Nomad and broker Cenkos (CNKS) and Dowgate Wealth management, the AIM sewer has a new recruit, a totally pointless investment company, Onward Opportunities (ONWD). This is not capitalism it is crony capitalism. The City boys will make £1.1 million in fees over the first 12 months. Even with inflation that will secure the services of many Ukrainian young ladies and buy stacks of Colombia's finest. Meanwhile shareholders will almost certainly lose money.
It’s all an all share merger of equals, each side getting 50% of the enlarged equity, with every Cenkos shareholder getting 3.19420647 New FinnCap Shares for every one Cenkos held. A marriage of equals you say? That is to say two businesses that have been equally disastrous investments. Merge two bad companies and what do you get?
A few logistics on shared cabs etc for Sharestock first. Then Darktrace (DARK), Funding Circle (FCH), Alien Metals (UFO), Cenkos (CNKS), FinnCap (FCAP), Shield Therapeutics (STC) and Restaurant Group (RTN)
As I reveal that it is not only Versarien (VRS) up to no good in this respect but also Eurasia Mining (EUA), I wonder which other shameless PLC rampers are up to no good and will AIM Regulation do anything to stop an increasingly disorderly market becoming an open sewer? I look at retail shares and real estate plays on that as more evidence emerges that my very long term "avoid the lot like the plague" stance was correct. I look at changing brokers at Cenkos (CNKS) and Condor Gold (CNR) and Premier Miton (PMI) and what the AIM Casino demise of SalvaRx (SALV), where managers are talented, says about the dangers of backing a cash shell.
I urge you to listen to today's free podcast with Lucian. The sound quality is good and the content excellent. It can be found HERE. In the bearcast I discuss my old pals at Eden Research (EDEN), Yu Group (YU.),Cenkos (CNKS) and FinnCap (FCAP).
In today's bearcast I look at shitty little gold plays like Conroy (CGNR) and Condor (CNR) at their relationship to the gold price. I cover Burford (BUR) noting today's interventions from two giants of the investment world: Carson Block of Muddy Waters and Roger Lawson of ShareSoc. I look at Providence Resources (PVR) a comedy set to end in tears, at Diversified Gas & Oil (DGOC) a tragedy set to end in tears and also at Neil Woodford and that Cenkos (CNKS) profits warning.
Shares in stockbroker Cenkos Securities (CNKS) are currently up to around 40p, though down from more than 46p at the end of last week. This following a Monday intra-day (3:02pm) “Directorate Change & Trading Update”…
In today's bearcast I start with a range of matters relating to Neil Woodford including brokers lifting our research, Purplebricks (PURP), Provident Financial (PFG) and Non-Standard Finance (NSF). And I make Neil a generous offer on Proton Partners (PPI). Then I look at Diversified Gas & Oil (DGOC) and the dumb fuck clients of Cenkos (CNKS). Finally a brief look at Ironveld (IRON) and at the Bluejay (JAY) hound. Postcript: Cynical Bear points out that today's TRI shows Woody is in fact selling Purplebricks in the market as well. Timber!
In today's bearcast I look at the idea of a bear market on AIM, Cenkos (CNKS) as its CEO walks (again), Versarien (VRS), Plutus Powergen (PPG), First Derivatives(FDP), Mysquar (FRAUD), Mayan (MYN) and Wolfe Minerals (WLFE). Due to a bit of a mix-up there are a newly available handful of tickets to next week's wine, canapes, Falanx (FLX) and Premaitha (NIPT) evening in London with me ripping Dominic Frisby apart on blockchain and bitcoin as a bonus. It has now emerged that Brokerman Dan attacked what he thought I said about Angus Energy (ANGS) without actually listening to what I actually said despite us giving him a 24 hour pass for bearcast access. He spouts an awful lot of piffle in his latest article but declines to print corrections. Poor Dan. Oddly on one major point he is almost correct. Moving on, I also look at Cenkos (CNKS), Frontera (FRR), Rosenblatt (RBGP), i3 Energy (I3E), MySquar (FRAUD), Online Blockchain (OBC) and Kellan (KLN).
In this podcast I look at the REAL state of the Totally I(TLY) balance sheet and I also cover FastForward (FFWD) and the job of a journalist, Cenkos (CNKS) and the future of the AIM Casino, Boxhill (BOX), Avanti Communications (AVN), Pantheon Resources (PANR) and UK Oil & Gas (UKOG)
Brokerman Dan has been replaced as the maps man on our Woodlarks Charity walk on Saturday. Perhaps we now know why in his former career he did not always get away. For it turns out that the walk is not 32 miles but 33. Lucian has mapped it out in full. Cripes. We now need just over £2,000 to reach our £20,000 target so if you hav e not yet sponsored me please do so HERE. Get us to target & I will shut up about it. In the podcast I look at IQE (IQE), Rangers FC and another date in court for Dave King, Thirsty Paul Scott not understanding what research means & wanting me not to cover Sosandar (SOS), Cenkos (CNKS), ADVFN (AFN) and Online Blockchain (OBC), Highlands Natural Resources (HNR) and Fishing Republic (FISH) which, I think, is AIM toast in waiting
Cenkos (CNKS) attracted plenty of criticism on this website over its dealings in the the Quindell saga. Whatever the rights and wrongs of that case, it’s still worth looking at the company as a standalone investment. It has been profitable every year since listing in 2005, and over that time has produced an unusually attractive stream of dividends and buybacks.
The FCA will say that fining Cenkos (CNKS) £530,000 over the Quindell (QPP) fraud shows regulation is working. Au contraire. The narrow scope of its investigation, the failure to sanction individuals and the paltry fine show that assisting crime does pay if you work in the City. It sends out all the wrong signals and is a day of shame for the Square Mile as I explain in this podcast.
I am challenged to comment on Cenkos (CNKS) as an investment in light of todays news on its role in the Quindell fraud (HERE). Okay, I do my best. Then it is on to Techfinancials (TECH), Advanced Oncotherapy (AVO) and some friendly advice for Malcolm Stacey, Gulf Keystone (GKP), XCite Energy (XEL) and then I end with Avanti Communications (AVN) where I hope you understand the historical analogy.
Sky News claims to have a source who says that Nomad and broker Cenkos (CNKS) is to be fined £700,000 by the FCA for its lamentable failings in the Quindell (QPP) fraud - Cenkos has now admiited that a probe is underway. Whilst I see this as another moment of vindication for my work in exposing that fraud it is simply not enough. The FCA is telling the City's banksters that turning a blind eye to white collar crime does pay. Its coke and hookers all round if this is the best that the FCA can do.
If you want me to analyse a stock for you just drop me a line at email@example.com - Today I look at shares in Cenkos (CNKS), Dekel Oil (DKL) and 32Red (TTR) setting share price targets for all three stocks.
