Luck of the Irish should Ensure this Budget Airline Will Continue to Fly High.

Hello Share Takers. They tell me that most airlines have upped their prices to make up for the bad time they had during Covid. Well, that may be so, but fares were ridiculously cheap before and are still tempting today. For example, I plan to fly to New York in December and it will cost me £400 return.

If you're looking to invest in copper, Atalaya Mining should be on your list

Atalaya Mining (ATYM) has been a favourite of mine for a few years now, but seems to be one of those shares which you rarely see mentioned on social media and the bulletin boards. It was formerly EMED. Ring a bell?

Europa Metals suddenly seems popular - which leaves me wondering when the next placing will be

The AIM market is full of companies which have never managed to achieve anything of note despite operating for years, and often it isn’t that hard to spot when they are going to raise more funds imminently.

Novacyt – the desperate share-ramping continues: Reminder that October 17th is Noses in Trough day

On my first weekly video show, I spelled out to you all why bosses at Novacyt (NCYT) will do absolutely everything they can to ramp the shares ahead of October 17. Every extra  penny on the share price on that day is worth more than ten thousand pounds to the CEO alone. In that vein, we have more ramptastic “news” today. But perhaps you are excited about a “second wave” of Covid deaths in Spain.

Berkeley Energia – states “not aware” of why better recent share price… then provides some reasons!...

Shares in this company have more than trebled since we last advised folks to by. The more proactive Australia Securities Exchange made a “price and volume query” after recent increased volumes and share price in Berkeley Energia (BKY) – and the company has now produced its response…

Two copper producers which offer value and good potential upside

Over the past couple of months it has generally been a good idea to avoid resource stocks unless you’re either buying for the long term or are happy to try and trade high volatility, but one metal that is showing signs of strength is copper.

Prospex announces a maiden profit, but how much cash was actually generated? Red Flag Alert!

When is a net profit not really a profit? When it is being announced by Prospex Oil and Gas (PXOG) would appear to be one answer to that question!

Optibiotix – another day another deal, but a question...

Steve O’ Hara says he is looking to do two new distribution deals a month and so here is the first for May. Optibiotix (OPTI) has announced that its fully-owned subsidiary ProBiotix Health Ltd., has signed a license agreement with Instituto Español de Nutrición Personalizada, S.A. for the use of Lactobacillus plantarum (LPLDL) in personalised food supplements in Spain...

Atalaya remains a buy after recent updates

If you want exposure to copper and are looking to invest in an earlier stage outfit that is already in production, then your choice of UK listed companies is actually fairly limited. The majority are either still at the exploration/development phase, or are large FTSE listed miners, and in many cases copper is just one of many metals that are being produced, with the odd exception...

Europa Metals issues a farcical RNS - it doesn't know exactly where its project is geographically & can't give any figures about the economics!

I can’t see Europa Metals (EUZ) shareholders being particularly pleased with the latest news from the company, and even less so with the 22% odd drop that it caused in the share price yesterday. This small AIM company is one that I haven’t exactly been a fan of in the past in its previous incarnation as Ferrum Crescent, and as is often the way with these companies that change name, and even management, not a lot tends to change with regards to performance...

Does Safran know that its employees threaten journalists? Ref Antonio Mateos and Berkeley Energia

I am contacted on twitter, as you can see below, by a man claiming to live in Spain who opposes Berkeley Energia (BKY) and its plans to create thousands of jobs at Salamanca. I do not wish to deny the poor the dignity of work this chap does. Follow the thread for it ends with a clear threat - I should stay away from the project...

Berkeley Energia – a more positive permitting update

Berkeley Energia (BKY) has updated that it “has been advised by the Nuclear Safety Council that it was not the source of the widely circulated media reports that the government was intending to deny the permits for the Salamanca mine” and “is continuing to work with the Nuclear Safety Council in progressing the necessary approvals for the Salamanca mine”

Atalya offers good exposure to copper plus has plenty of growth potential

Spanish copper miner Atalya Mining (ATYM) has seen its share price drop back recently, but then the situation has been similar on most producers in this sector and has come as a result of weakness in the commodity price rather than anything company specific.

This AIM Outfit that Doesn't Knock the Rock Might Be Worth a Peek

Hello, Share Pluggers. Listening to the radio today, I learned Gibraltar is gearing up nicely for Brexit. An incredibly reasonable spokesman for the big rock said it was hoping to forge friendlier links with Spain after the break-up. Recently, I’ve also picked up media reports that financial institutions, particularly insurance, are moving operations to Gibraltar, anticipating a financial boom.

A glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel for Ferrum Crescent?

Regular readers here will know that I’ve not exactly been a big fan of Ferrum Crescent (FCR), but there could now be a slight glimmer of hope for anyone trapped in this serial underperformer.

FCR

The future looks bleak for Ferrum Crescent - another placing isn't far from being needed!

The lower end of the AIM market can be surprisingly predictable at times, especially when it comes to raising funds, so it often amazes me how many private investors get caught out when such news comes. That would certainly seem to have been the case with the recent fundraising activity at Ferrum Crescent (FCR) and the events leading up to that, even if many on the bulletin boards were in denial of what was coming.

Why I'm happy to be holding shares in suspended Central Asia Metals

Although you can’t currently trade shares in Central Asia Metals (CAML), given my bullishness on the company I felt that I should take a look at the current situation following news of a suspension in trading at the start of the week.

Ferrum Crescent - still burning through cash and achieving little of note!

With any AIM listed natural resources company it is always interesting to look at where the company is at this point in time when compared to the accumulated losses of the business since it started.

Metal Tiger (MTR) has updated on exploration at the Logrosan Minerals joint venture in Spain – helping the shares currently slightly higher to 2.03p mid.

Atalaya Mining offers a speculative play on copper prices rising further

Copper has remained volatile in recent weeks, but is still showing far more strength than we’ve seen in the last couple of years, and I think the upward trend will continue. There are still some concerns about a potential drop in demand, but at the same time we’re not seeing many new copper projects reaching production and I can see further shortages in supply going forwards, barring a worldwide economic meltdown.

Atalaya Mining at 139p worth 175p?

Atalaya Mining (ATYM) the company once known as EMED has served up its Q3 results today and broker Mirabaud is quick off the blocks with a buy note. I know many of our readers are invested here. Though I have no strong view for what it is worth Mirabaud writes:

Grade cheer at Berkeley Energia

Uranium play Berkeley Energia (BKY) is trumpeting encouraging initial exploration results from the high-grade Zona 7 deposit within its  wholly-owned Salamanca project, hosting an estimated resource of 90.5million lbs. of uranium U308 in central-western Spain. Entrepreneurial managing director Paul Atherley describes the Zona 7 results, which include 14 metres with 4,481 parts of uranium U308 per million of material and six metres with 3,274 parts per million,  as 'transformational', while declaring another Salamanca prospect,  Retortillo, is likely to face potential operating costs of some $15.60c (£10.90p) a lb., which is less than half the present 'market' price of uranium, at $34.75 a lb.

Work Related Trips I’d like to do: Kosovo, Spain – any other ideas?

It I all very well sitting in my garage in Bristol or in the Greek Hovel writing about companies but it would be fascinating to actually go visit a few of them on the ground with a video camera in hand to report from the coalface. Right now that is not an option for personal reasons you know too well but next year I’ll need to clear my head and already two road trips are sort of planned.

Greece and the Bigger European Hole Means We should Choose Shares in A Wider Market.

Hello Share Plungers. We’re told by the International Monetary Fund that Greece will never be able to pay back its big debt and that creditors should be willing to take a haircut. Green light for EMED Mining

EMED Mining (EMED) is seeking to assemble a financing package worth at least $150 million (£100 million) to restart the historic Rio Tinto copper mine near Seville in Spain after winning final approval for its mining and restoration plan there. World-Cup

World Cup – who’s going home early?! England? Spain?!!!!

I was hesitant about yesterday’s pick. The pre-match prices on Belgium and Brazil to win weren’t good enough. In-game there were some fantastic odds on Belgium especially, but overall it was a disappointing day. Brazil’s 0-0 draw with Mexico just goes to show there is no such thing as a sure thing in sports betting. If Brazil fail to take their chances in the knockout stages and put in a similar display to yesterday’s they could find themselves in some trouble. The swagger of last summer’s crushing Confederations Cup victory is missing from this year’s tournament hosts, but I remain confident they will still triumph. I’ve staked more on Brazil to win the competition today at 4.9 on Bwin, but in the meantime there are two more rounds of group fixtures and some big teams are in real trouble.

EMED Quarterlies - Buy

EMED Mining (EMED) has announced results from a “transformational” quarter – in which it received the Unified Environmental Authorisation for the Rio Tinto copper project in Spain , and shortly after was granted ‘Administrative Standing’. So are the shares cheap? Yes.

EMED – down but far from out – Long Chat with CEO: Buy

AIM listed EMED (LSE:EMED) has been on the point of starting to build a huge copper mine in Spain for ages. But getting the consents needed seems harder than finding a 17 year old virgin in Romford. And EMED is still not there.
