Haydale – US Subsidiary Insolvency, oops a daisy!

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear! The POS that is AIM-listed Haydale (HAYD) has announced that its US subsidiary has been placed in Chapter 11 insolvency. The company merrily tells us that this will help with achieving “improved” profitability and cash flow. But it has never made a cent, instead acting as a one-way vessel for investors cash to the Great Central Bank in the Sky.

The View From The Montana Log-Cabin As Gold Still Surges

Gold closed the week at $2,860 – another new all-time closing week high, having put in yet another all-time high of $2,886. It was another good week for the yellow stuff and as can be seen on the chart below of Gold against ETFs of its miners, GDX (majors) GDXJ (juniors) and GOEX (explorers), the miners are following.

My 2025 Golden Share Picks, Ariana And Golden Prospect

My two picks for 2025 were Ariana (AAU) at 1.95p per share and Golden Prospect (GPM) at 35.5p. Both Gold investments, it has been a game of two halves so far – one up and one down. Meanwhile, the yellow metal has powered ahead.

The View From The Montana Log-Cabin As Gold Sets More Records

Gold closed the week at $2,799 – a new daily, weekly and monthly all-time high, having posted another all-time intra-day high of $2,817. Up on last week’s $2,770, the question now is will it push on to leave $2,800 behind and my view is yes. Gold stocks also had a good week, as can be seen on the chart below of Gold against the mining ETFs GDX (majors), GDXJ (juniors) and GOEX (explorers), although they remain below their highs recorded in the autumn: there’s plenty of upside left.

Ariana – Further Newmont Investment….At A Large Premium

AIM-listed Ariana Resources (AAU) this morning announced that Newmont is to invest a further $871,000 via a purchase of shares at 2.375p as Ariana’s majority-owned Western Tethyan Resources looks to undertake additional work across its portfolio of targets in Kosovo an North Macedonia. $871,000 is good news for Ariana – but that's not the point here.

The View From The Montana Log-Cabin As Gold Posts Another New Record – And My Answer to Sohail

Gold closed the week at $2,770 – a new weekly record high, well up on last week’s $2,702 and seemingly well on its way to a new all-time high. Good news for Gold bugs! But why aren’t UK Gold stocks roofing it, asks Sohail? Tom Winnifrith offered his thoughts HERE and I certainly do not disagree, but I think there are a few other points worth mentioning.

Gold Up Again, Ariana Down Again – Is Mr Market Mad?

Students of Benjamin Graham – author of The Intelligent Investor and teacher of Warren Buffett – will, of course, know that Mr Market is indeed mad, wavering from depression at one moment to, in the words of Alan Greenspan, “irrational exuberance”. And that brings me to Gold and AIM-listed Ariana Resources (AAU). One is going up, the other – which produces the stuff – is heading south.

The View From The Montana Log-Cabin As Gold Retakes $2,700 (Just)

Gold closed the week at $2,702 – back above $2,700 and scraping out of nomansland at last to the positive side, compared to last week’s $2,690. Good news (for Goldbugs) – and even more so for UK Goldbugs as it hit another new all-time high, closing at £2,230. Gold stocks also had a good week, if somewhat more muted than the metal, as can be seen on the chart of Gold against the mining ETFs GDX (majors), GDXJ (juniors) and GOEX (explorers).
