CyanConnode – half-year trading update, is “pleased to provide” justified?

Describing itself as “a world leader in Narrowband Radio Frequency Smart Mesh Networks”, CyanConnode (CYAN) states it “is pleased to provide a trading update for the six months ended 30 September 2021”. The shares have currently responded up towards 13p, but are still down from the more than 16p reached last month.

James Halstead – (Again) what a solid, family-influenced, business

It is easy to make investment selection errors but it is also easy to miss out on sensible investment opportunities. Over the last 10 months I have written twice about the industrial flooring company James Halstead (JHD), most recently back at the end of March. Back then I talked about that ‘looking for a bad day (or three) share price below 500p feels like a sensible longer-term buy of this sensible family influenced name forged in 1915’. Judging by today’s update from the company, I should have taken advantage of the opportunity I had to do that back in May.

Quartix Technologies – trading “good”, but the valuation?...

Previously writing on vehicle tracking technologies company Quartix (QTX), in March with the shares at 476p I questioned is the progress ‘pleasing’?. What about now, with a half-year trading update?…

Dialight – neither Mr Market or I agree with its "confidence for the future"

A trading statement today from LED lighting for industrial applications company Dialight (DIA) concludes that structural drivers position it well and give it confidence for the future. However, the shares have eased by 2% to 253.5p. That suggests that Mr Market does not wholly share that stated “confidence for the future”.

Arena Events – “Trading Update”… & having only listed on AIM in July 2017…

“Trading Update” from “provider of temporary physical structures, seating, ice rinks, furniture and interiors”, Arena Events (ARE) includes in its first paragraph; “The group experienced strong revenue growth across the UK, US and Middle East divisions with the acquisitions contributing as expected”. The shares have though responded to the update… currently more than 30% lower on the day, at around 40p! Hmmm…

Goals Soccer Centres – own goal as goes from “optimistic” to profit warning in 4 months

In September, previously writing on Goals Soccer Centres (GOAL) I noted it stating “trading in H2 has started well” but also US and financial risk – and concluded to continue to avoid. Now a “Post close trading update” – and the shares currently more than 15% lower on the day, towards 60p…

TLA Worldwide – from ‘looks forward with confidence’ to banking covenants breach “likely” & Nomad resignation in little more than 3 months!?

Having previously really taken the biscuit with its 2016 ‘bury bad news’ Christmas sweepstake effort, today an intra-day (10:35am) “Trading and Business Update” from TLA Worldwide (TLA). I suggest these factors don’t bode well…

Immedia – as shares slump on interims, argues “well positioned”. Really?

Immedia (IME), which describes itself as “a supplier of multi-media content and digital audience engagement solutions for leading brands and global businesses” (i.e. it supplies audio visuals and data analytics) emphasises in results for the first half of 2017 that “the board remains confident that the outlook for the group is positive”. However, the shares are currently down 16% on the day to 21p…
