Aphria - a cannabis giant set to go to zero: the new Gabriel Grego dossier
Gabriel Grego is the man who exposed Globo (GBO) as a fraud, Folli Follie as a fraud and his new target is Canadian cannabis giant Aphria - his clear view is that this multi billion dollar company is a zero. Gabriel is presenting in New York right now but we have his presentation and his dossier which is utterly devestating. This looks like free money as a short.

FinnCrap: Yourgene (Premaitha as was) shares to double
Okay FinnCrap is FinnCrap and caveat two it is house broker to Yourgene (YGEN) so take this all with a bucket load of salt. But, I agree, the shares are cheap. So here is what analyst Mark Brewer emailed out this morning after interims:

Minoan - £525k placing, and £250k of liabilities settled at 2.5p. Call me mad, but....
Well, we all knew that AIM-listed Minoan (MIN) was going to place as it told us so when the sale of the travel and leisure division was announced. The issue price of 2.5p is disappointing in the wake of the share price when the T&L sale was announced, but does not look so bad in the context of a share price on its knees at around 2.25p early last week. Be thankful for small mercies, then.

McColl's continues to struggle to move on from the 1970s
I reckon the heyday for McColl's Retail Group (MCLS) was in the 1970s and parts of the 1980s and since then it has been all about trying to get by. The big problem is that the world of the corner shop where you would pop for a pint of milk or a loaf of bread, the daily newspaper, penny chews and the like has moved on. Convenience has become a bigger theme in a 24/7 world, but it is one which is now fully embraced by both the big supermarkets and the world of delivery. Meanwhile going into a McColl's store has not changed that much over the last thirty years.

Beware of share price rises caused by RNS-Reach - Mobile Streams is a case in point
I often find myself questioning the purpose of RNS Reach announcements for companies listed on the AIM market, as they can cause severe volatility in the share price and this is usually far more than is justified by the news itself.

Greene King May Activate Higher Profits Before Too Long, But It May Be Worth Selling Shares after the Christmas Booze-Up.
Hello, Share Guzzlers. It’s usually encouraging when you find a company with a single digit PE as well as a juicy dividend. And Greene King (GNK) scores on both counts. The PE ration I have is only about 8 and the dividendyield is a jolly 6.7%. But those happy numbers do not always auger a bouncy near future for the share price.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: will FinnCrap show a shred of integrity and quit as Telit's Nomad tomorrow?
A delayed bearcast as it is all go at the Greek Hovel with the olive harvest. Comrade Andrew Bell has departed but the Albanian cavalry has arrived. More on that on my own website later, with photos. In today's podcast i start with the explosive news about how wretched Theresa May has misled MPs and the nation over Brexit. Surely she must go now. And I ponder events in France. Do we really want to be in bed with that sort of place. Then onto Telit (TCM) where the Sunday Times has big news. This could be a zero by tomorrow. I discuss in detail. I also comment on another fraud, MySquar (MYSQ)

Interserve – another new low as investors take fright: yikes have you seen the balance sheet?
Shares in fully-listed Interserve (IRV) had a bad week last week, tumbling to a new low point of just 27.5p, which makes my sell call at around £1 look like an act of pure genius. Having suffered something of a tremor following a BBC report that there were plans to tap shareholders up to sort out its balance sheet – which looked a little unlikely given the (then) market cap of around £50 million and debts of around £600 million without a massive debt-for-equity swap – the shares recovered some temporary poise on a Statement following recent press coverage which failed to mention the issue.

Sell the Wayfair Rally at $105
Wayfair (NYSE:W), the US online home furnishing group with a $9.5 billion market cap, saw its shares rise the other day as it reported strong sales over the Thanksgiving period. This proves a classic shorting opportunity at $105 per share.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: My olive harvester ShareProphets reader Bernard has two shameful confessions
I start with a few words about the harvest. The team of three worked until it was dark. Then I reveal Bernard's shameful confessions. Then more on the folly of Neil Woodford and lessons from Kier. Neil is yet to get back to me about my business proposition from yesterday. Come on old boy £2 million for 20%, what's not to like?

Dividend Munchers – November update: beating Neil!
My small portfolio of high dividend payers took a couple of interesting turns last month. On the plus side, Vodafone (VOD) put in quite a recovery to close at 168p – quite a rise from the low point of 143p just a couple of weeks back. On the downside, Centrica (CNA) dropped on a trading update which showed continued loss of customers and projected earnings below the level of the dividend. Hmmm.

Keir-Blimey! Woodford raising more much-needed cash by dumping good shares
We all know that markets have been a bit skittish recently, which will mean that investors will be looking to sell unit trust holdings. And we know that Neil Woodford has faced the double whammy of redemptions and his cash-hungry dogs which need feeding. And on Friday morning Kier group (KIE) announced a rights issue: it never rains….

Contrasting Fortunes for Greggs and Thomas Cook
A number of trading updates caught the eye this week, but perhaps none more so than Greggs (GRG) and Thomas Cook (TCG). In terms of market reception, the two couldn’t be more different; while shares in Greggs soared, the price of Thomas Cook shares plummeted. In this week’s issue we cover current tipster and broker sentiment towards both UK firms.

Optibiotix – the good news keeps on coming : DO NOT SELL
On Tuesday we learned how Optibiotix (OPTI) had secured medical device approval for Slimbiome and a CE Mark and that it had been working on this for two and a half years. We suggested that it would thus hit the ground running and so it was perfectly plausible that it could be delivering annualised profits of £7 million from this one product within two years. On Thursday we saw evidence of how well prepared it is for a rapid rollout.
