Quartix Technologies – trading “good”, but the valuation?...

Previously writing on vehicle tracking technologies company Quartix (QTX), in March with the shares at 476p I questioned is the progress ‘pleasing’?. What about now, with a half-year trading update?…

Will you help crowdfund Ian Westbrook to see bully boy AIM CEO Neill Ricketts of Versarien faced down in Court?

Loathsome Neill Ricketts of Versarien (VRS) seems intent on destroying his Bulletin Board critic Ian Westbrook in order to preserve his good name. Really I meant that – seriously, stop sniggering at the back! But Mr Westbrook is not backing down and has hired the legal team which has helped me see off so many bullies who are working at a very reasonable rate to defend the brave Westbrook. But costs will mount up so Ian, Club Sandwich on the boards, has launched a crowdfunding operation to raise an initial £20,000. I ask of you two things:

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Beware extrapolationitis re MyHealthChecked

Joshua and I visited Kardamili of Paddy Leigh Fermor fame this morning and more on that later. In today’s podcast, I cover Catenae (CTEA), en passant the fraud Zoetic (ZOE), and MyHeathchecked (MHC) where I caution against extrapolations but suggest why I think the shares should or could double. PS Joshua’s second name is Patrick, he is named after the great man who was a good friend of my father.

On the Beach Group – another placing, when is the international travel recovery?

Previously writing on online beach holiday retailer On the Beach Group (OTB), in November I cautioned despite another laudable update and last month Chris Bailey noted ‘Reality starting to happen On The Beach’. Today the group has announced “successful completion of… non-pre-emptive placing”

CTEA

Catenae – Truly Ramptastic Nonsense and a point for BBMs to consider: SELL!

The morning, AIM-listed Catenae Innovation (CTEA) trumpeted a new pilot programme with a charity. Bully for it, but to me this morning’s RNS is extremely bad news and this is why.

Pick and choose your stocks (and if you need to houses) carefully

Did you see the latest Halifax house prices for June this morning? Well apparently the average UK property price was £260,358, with Scotland and Northern Ireland ‘amongst areas seeing strongest growth’. However, whilst the average annual house price inflation was still 8.8% and 2.9% for the last quarter, the change over the last month was -0.5%. Hello a fall back. You can probably guess at least one of the reasons why.

Ten Entertainment – emphasises “strong trading since reopening”… but how sustainable?

Previously writing on UK tenpin bowling and ‘family entertainment’ centres group Ten Entertainment (TEG), in September I concluded I’ll continue to monitor for further updates…on the watchlist. With the positive vaccines news, the shares reached 200p in November and 260p+ in May. So what now, with they currently at 248p on the back of a half-year trading update?…

Zephyr Energy – A Lord of the Realm was not wrong

Back in mid-2019, I commented on Rose Petroleum (ROSE), now renamed Zephyr Energy (ZPHR) , and the potential for management to change the outlook for any business. What caught my eye was just how close the company came to having David Sefton on its board bringing with him a track record of shite. It was a great escape. However It was the father-in-law of the newly appointed CEO (Colin Harrington) who flagged to me the potential for more than just a name change. Richard was not wrong to see opportunity to actually drive a business forward.

City centre developments May Seem Covid-Prone, but this Progressive Outfit's Battered Share Price could Recover

Hello, Share Takers. Though I recoil from companies with only initials and numbers in the name, I’m rather taken by the prospects for a company called U+I (UAI). And, said out loud, it has a nice ring to it. This is an outfit described as a regeneration developer. This means that it takes rather unattractive brownfield big city sites, often overlooked by others, and turns them into something much more useful and attractive.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Too many schoolboy errors on the navigation front - finally back at the Greek Hovel

Joshua and I are back, at last. It is all my fault, he was very understanding although he blamed me. In today’s podcast I explain this and then look at Morrison’s (MRW), Zoetic (ZOE) and Supply@ME Capital (SYME).

Wm Morrison – recommended offer, but is there still more to come?

Wm Morrison Supermarkets (MRW) is “pleased to announce” a recommended offer for the company from Fortress Investment Group at 252p per share plus a 2p per share dividend. That compares to a 181.75p offer price recommendation on this website just in January this year…but also a current 267.5p share price. Why the latter?…

XSG

Xeros Technology – how ‘delightful’ is the ‘partnership’ news?...

Xeros Technology Group (XSG) is “delighted to be partnering with two domestic washing machine manufacturers” and the shares have responded slightly higher to 232.5p. So what’s the partnerships detail and valuation?…

Red Rock Resources – DRC & Kenya progress, but still really waiting for news from Oz

Red Rock Resources (RRR) has announced that a drill programme has begun at the Luanshimba copper-cobalt project in the Democratic Republic of Congo and a contract for a drill programme at its Mikei gold project in Kenya. Is a share price response up slightly to 0.825p reasonable?…

CDL

Cloudbreak Discovery (nee Imperial X) – latest Ramparoonie Flops as Gravity Asserts

Imperial X listed on the sub-Standard List back on June 3rd at 3p per share. The shares quickly rushed up to 5.5p but the share price chart shows a ski-slope ever since, despite a series of ramptastic announcements and a name-change to Cloudbreak Discovery (CDL). This morning we have another ramparoonie……

CHH

Churchill China – a “pleased to provide” trading update, but what’s already discounted in the share price?...

Ceramic products company Churchill China (CHH“is pleased to provide an update in relation to trading for the six months ended 30 June 2021” and the shares have currently responded further higher to 1762.5p. What’s the update and what’s discounted in the share price?…

Shall I book my next food shopping with J Sainsbury or Ocado?

Being a shareholder in Wm Morrison (MRW) has been marvellous, as discussed on Sunday HERE. I had to laugh this morning when I read in The Times that one top 20 investor’s ‘view is 254p undervalues Morrisons, but with three private equity groups interested it is unlikely to be the final bid’. Clearly on the first point they should have bought more shares then! We will see on the latter point and my view is to hold onto the stock and see what happens. Even if all the other potential angles come to nothing, getting a 254p per share bid (including the dividend) is a pretty good return for those who followed the views on this website over the last few months. Tom and Steve have also been very smartly writing about Morrisons’ peer J Sainsbury (SBRY), recently observing that it is a FTSE “elephant and another dividend secured”.

ShareProphets readers tips for 2021 competition – end June update

Castillo Copper – drilling results extend mineralisation & set for further Oz and Zambia news

Castillo Copper (CCZ) has announced drilling results which extend known mineralisation and suggest copper density is higher than initially thought at the Big One deposit, Mt Oxide project in Queensland, Australia.

She Sells Shell Shares at Her Peril, I Rather Think

Hello, Share Seekers. I rather hesitate to raise this again. I’ve already written about it recently, but I really do think the case can be made for quite a substantial rise in the shares of oil giants like Shell (RDSA) and BP (BP.). For some reason, which escapes me, the share values of these jumbos remain low compared to a couple of years ago. And yet the price of Brent Crude, on which oilers rely for profits, continues to soar.

Touchstar again a Buy?

Touchstar (TST) is a stock we were previously confident on early last year but exited on covid-response related challenges at a 21% loss. The shares went on to fall below 40p and though they have already recovered to a current 85p offer price, a recent AGM statement provides further confidence…
