I cannot help but notice that sub-Standard-Listed Cloudbreak Discovery (CDL) is back below its IPO price of 3p, at 2.8p in the middle. Call me Mystic Meg – for having sailed up as high as 13.25p on a ridiculous ramp, I commented in April that the shares have since drifted down to just 4.6p and seem set to drop back below the IPO price in due course. Where’s my Ouzo?

We sped past Jane Austen’s house and into Alton where I bring you a picture of three bears. No delays for the five rogue bloggers and at 4.10 pm, at 23 miles we caught up with 78 year old Fleet Street legend Brian Basham and his trainer J who had left Winchester five hours before us. Gold finished the week at $1872, nicely up from last week’s $1851, following a day of yet more bad US inflation numbers and a corresponding sell-off in both equities and bonds. Gold initially followed the market down, but then rallied. Is this a sign of a decoupling which would see the yellow metal head sharply north as equities head the other way?

At 17 miles, we are now halfway. Brian Basham, who started just after midnight, is now a couple of miles ahead of the main group; so, we are stopping for lunch. I wish my friend, Jonathan Price the euro loon, were here joining me, as I am struggling a bit. His Guardianista thoughts are always a reason to march on and end the suffering. The next stop is four miles away, and it is hard to think beyond that. Again, everyone else eats as I nibble at my half-eaten breakfast sandwich. The next target is lunch, which is 3 miles away. We are, I calculate, on track to catch Brian Basham at c. 3 pm. My fellow rogue bloggers, even the hungover Lucian Miers and reader, N, who has an incredibly heavy backpack, are in fine form. I am not. Something isn't right, and I am just taking on more liquids at this stage. I have confessed to Nick Richards that, for the first time, I may not make it to the finish line this year. Nevertheless, I am focused on the next three miles, which take us just past halfway. Hello Shares Fans. Let’s take the opportunity, with markets closed, to review the situation surrounding the oil price and our opportunities to make money with the big, and not so big, oilers. In the last few days of trading, shares in Shell (SHEL), BP (BP.) and the like dropped. But the reason is lightweight and temporary. 

I see that the US has released its inflation numbers for May 2022. For anyone who thought that April’s numbers marked the peak, they had a nasty shock today!

Previously writing on behavioural science-based business improvement company Mind Gym (MIND), with the shares at 130p in April I concluded that the valuation didn’t look to leave scope for the uncertainty and downgrades and therefore to still avoid / sell. Today it “is pleased to announce its audited results for the year ended 31 March 2022”...and the shares are 120p. Hmmm...

In the world of investing, one must know when to quit.  Whilst it is, I hope, many years before I no longer manage my money, one shouldn't expect to own their favourite stock today, forever.  After all, it is not just that the world changes (because obviously, it does), but any share can become fundamentally fully-valued; that is when to move on.

The big institutions all barreled in to ProCook (PROC), since they knew better than Old Tom Winnifrith, despite his explicit warnings why this would end in tears. So, too, did Primary Bid, which was a keen supporter - as was our own Malcolm Stacey. What was he thinking?  But, just seven months after the IPO comes a disastrous profits warning, and the shares have collapsed.  While Malcolm drowns his sorrows with an extra pint of Old Mother' Green's organic ale, it is ouzo time at the Welsh Hovel. But do the founding O’Neill family, who flogged tens of millions worth of shares to dumb IIs, really care?

Jadestone Energy (JSE) has announced results for the 2021 calendar year and that it still expects 2022 average production to increase to 15,500-18,500 boe/d. So what of a share price slipping to 101p in response?

Plastic products company Coral Products (CRU) has issued a trading and dividend update ahead of results for its year ended 30^th April 2022, helping its shares further higher to 17.5p.

Yet again, I write to AIM Regulation with regard to the devout Christian, Matt Lofgran. Praise be the Lord. This time, it is not about his consorting with convicted pump-and-dump fraudster, Ron Bauer, and his known associate, Adrian Beeston. It concerns his misleading investors in Nostra Terra Oil & Gas (NTOG), in collusion with London’s worst Nomad, Roland  “Fatty” Cornish.
