Photo Article: The Rogue Bloggers cross the line at Woodlarks

The fast walkers crossed the line at 9.15. Heroic Nick Richards was there to meet us. Job done. Thank you for all the donations. If you are yet to donate please do so now. Now for some elderflower champagne.

Sub-Standard Listed Cloudbreak Discovery – As Predicted…..

I cannot help but notice that sub-Standard-Listed Cloudbreak Discovery (CDL) is back below its IPO price of 3p, at 2.8p in the middle. Call me Mystic Meg – for having sailed up as high as 13.25p on a ridiculous ramp, I commented in April that the shares have since drifted down to just 4.6p and seem set to drop back below the IPO price in due course. Where’s my Ouzo?

Photo Article Rogue Bloggers and the three bears and we finally catch Brian Basham

We sped past Jane Austen’s house and into Alton where I bring you a picture of three bears. No delays for the five rogue bloggers and at 4.10 pm, at 23 miles we caught up with 78 year old Fleet Street legend Brian Basham and his trainer J who had left Winchester five hours before us. We are now just nine miles from Woodlarks and the group is again splitting into fast and slow. Amazingly I am in the fast group. If you are yet to donate to the good cause please do so HERE.

The View From The Montana Log-Cabin As Gold Shows Signs Of Decoupling

Gold finished the week at $1872, nicely up from last week’s $1851, following a day of yet more bad US inflation numbers and a corresponding sell-off in both equities and bonds. Gold initially followed the market down, but then rallied. Is this a sign of a decoupling which would see the yellow metal head sharply north as equities head the other way?

Woodlarks

Photo Article: Rogue bloggers for Woodlarks lunchbreak

At 17 miles, we are now halfway. Brian Basham, who started just after midnight, is now a couple of miles ahead of the main group; so, we are stopping for lunch. I wish my friend, Jonathan Price the euro loon, were here joining me, as I am struggling a bit. His Guardianista thoughts are always a reason to march on and end the suffering. The next stop is four miles away, and it is hard to think beyond that. Again, everyone else eats as I nibble at my half-eaten breakfast sandwich. I feel rotten. If you have yet to donate, please do so, HERE.

Photo Article: Rogue bloggers for Woodlarks reach 14 miles

The next target is lunch, which is 3 miles away. We are, I calculate, on track to catch Brian Basham at c. 3 pm. My fellow rogue bloggers, even the hungover Lucian Miers and reader, N, who has an incredibly heavy backpack, are in fine form. I am not. Something isn't right, and I am just taking on more liquids at this stage. I have confessed to Nick Richards that, for the first time, I may not make it to the finish line this year. Nevertheless, I am focused on the next three miles, which take us just past halfway. Master Miers, a barking-mad commie, is keeping at the back to help me along, entertaining me with his bonkers worldview.  He makes our in-house Euro loon, Jonathan Price, seem rather sane.  Think of my suffering, as Master Miers explains why rich people's houses should be nationalised, and donate to Woodlarks HERE

BREAKING: The fraud Supply@MECapital says FRC does not know what it is talking about!

So, who do you believe: the fraudsters at Supply@ME Capital (SYME), or The Financial Reporting Council? Er...the FRC.

Photo Article: Rogue bloggers for Woodlarks update: Basham located at breakfast time

We marched past the beds of watercress, and are now just 15 minutes behind schedule. At the first rest break - the Cricketers Arms - Lucian is apologising for last night's excess to his Mrs. Fleet Street legend, Brian Basham has been in contact. Two hours ago, he was 45 minutes ahead of where we are now. The pursuit is on. If you have yet to donate to this great cause, think of the suffering that lies ahead: 25 miles still to go! Please donate HERE.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: For Mrs P, this why I am walking today and is it placing ahoy at Argo Blockchain?

In today's podcast, I discuss Argo Blockchain (ARB) and why, later today, I shall be wading through 34 miles of nettles. If you can, please donate to Rogue Bloggers for Woodlarks, HERE.

Photo Article: The Rogue Bloggers for Woodlarks set off from Winchester Cathedral

There are two late dropouts: reader Sam and Andrew Bell; Fleet Street legend, Brian Basham, has gone AWOL. So, it is just me, reader N, Steve Moore, and a very hungover Lucian Miers (along with his communist son). Lucian's hangover has delayed us by 35 minutes, but now, we are off! If you have yet to donate, please do so HERE.

Why Oil Shares Could Be Well Worth Having, Despite a Small Correction in Share Prices

Hello Shares Fans. Let’s take the opportunity, with markets closed, to review the situation surrounding the oil price and our opportunities to make money with the big, and not so big, oilers. In the last few days of trading, shares in Shell (SHEL), BP (BP.) and the like dropped. But the reason is lightweight and temporary.

Inflation, Inflation! How Long ‘Til The Tyres Go Pop?

I see that the US has released its inflation numbers for May 2022. For anyone who thought that April’s numbers marked the peak, they had a nasty shock today!

MIND

Mind Gym – full-year results, what of the valuation and “macro economic headwinds”?...

Previously writing on behavioural science-based business improvement company Mind Gym (MIND), with the shares at 130p in April I concluded that the valuation didn’t look to leave scope for the uncertainty and downgrades and therefore to still avoid / sell. Today it “is pleased to announce its audited results for the year ended 31 March 2022”...and the shares are 120p. Hmmm...

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Have I told you what I am doing tomorrow? A big thank you to so many of you.

Yes, I will be wading through nettles, but all for a good cause. To those who have donated, many thanks. With gift aid, as I record, we have now raised £25,600. If you are yet to donate, please help us reach £30,000, by giving a few quid HERE. Talking of nettles, I describe various home-grown triumphs, here at the Welsh Hovel: next week, I hope to make some nettle beer, as well as more elderflower cordial - what do you think? In the main podcast, I discuss discretionary consumer spending; Parsley Box (MEAL); ProCook (PROC); Altyn Gold (ALTN); Optibiotix (OPTI) and a chat with Steve O'Hara, who, of course, you can meet HERE; and AEX Gold (AEXG).

Keep on thinking (and investing), until you cannot

In the world of investing, one must know when to quit.  Whilst it is, I hope, many years before I no longer manage my money, one shouldn't expect to own their favourite stock today, forever.  After all, it is not just that the world changes (because obviously, it does), but any share can become fundamentally fully-valued; that is when to move on.

I warned explicitly about ProCook BEFORE its IPO Last November; now, a dire warning as shares collapse

The big institutions all barreled in to ProCook (PROC), since they knew better than Old Tom Winnifrith, despite his explicit warnings why this would end in tears. So, too, did Primary Bid, which was a keen supporter - as was our own Malcolm Stacey. What was he thinking?  But, just seven months after the IPO comes a disastrous profits warning, and the shares have collapsed.  While Malcolm drowns his sorrows with an extra pint of Old Mother' Green's organic ale, it is ouzo time at the Welsh Hovel. But do the founding O’Neill family, who flogged tens of millions worth of shares to dumb IIs, really care?

Jadestone Energy – 2021 results and 2022 positives, but Bank Gains?

Jadestone Energy (JSE) has announced results for the 2021 calendar year and that it still expects 2022 average production to increase to 15,500-18,500 boe/d. So what of a share price slipping to 101p in response?

Coral Products – trading and dividend update, Buy

Letter to AIM Regulation: re Nostra Terra and Beaumont Cornish - are you happy to see investors deceived?

Yet again, I write to AIM Regulation with regard to the devout Christian, Matt Lofgran. Praise be the Lord. This time, it is not about his consorting with convicted pump-and-dump fraudster, Ron Bauer, and his known associate, Adrian Beeston. It concerns his misleading investors in Nostra Terra Oil & Gas (NTOG), in collusion with London’s worst Nomad, Roland  “Fatty” Cornish.
