Photo-Me – shares slump on results announcement, do I agree with shareholder Malcolm Stacey?

Results for its year ended 30th April 2016 from Photo-Me International (PHTM) include “a 14.6% increase in reported underlying pre-tax profits to a record £40.1million”, though the shares are down more than 17%, at around 132p, in response. As a shareholder Malcolm Stacey’s response is HERE and the following is my take.

Why Britain Should Exit the EU (From an Irishman, in Friendship)

It is the final day of the campaign and most have likely made up their minds or indeed voted already. But please indulge me with a few reasons why I am in favour of Britain leaving the EU.

AIM: the Data that shows its a disaster

AIM is now 21 and new, hard, data from Hargreaves Lansdown shows that, whatever the London Stock Exchange says, it has been a disaster. Over that time the AIM Index has fallen by 30%. By contrast - with dividends included - the FTSE Small Cap Index is up by 220%. Ouch.

Selling Photo-me Shares on Tuesday's Drop? You May Want to Hold It - Flash, Bang, Wallop.

Hello Share Twinklers. As Uncle Tom would have it, Photo-me (PHTM) is my favourite company.  I’m not sure about that but it is still rather galling for me to have to report that the shares are down 15% as I write. It has, to be fair, motored upwards for a few days earlier on the expectation of a preliminary results statement which came out today. But that statement is not at all bad, and I fancy that the 15% fade will soon start to look a lot better.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - I am utterly fecked off with everyone

I am not writing much today as I am 100% fecked off with everyone especially Ben Turney, Jason Drummond and lyin' George Osborne. Instead I finished my olive pruning. I think I am going to quit writing and become a full time olive pruner. I discuss Teathers Financial (TEA), the Brexit vote, Photo-Me (PHTM), Chemring (CHG), Churchill Mining (CHL), xCite Energy (XEL) and dog spreadbetting waste of space London Capital (LCG)

JOUL

Joules - Growth but not necessarily value

Premium lifestyle brand Joules (JOUL) is one of the freshest arrivals to the AIM market. Along with Hotel Chocolat (HOTC), Joules has been recognised as one of the higher-quality names to opt for AIM in recent months, and a sign that the junior market is still capable of attracting highly investable companies.

EU Supply – CEO buys & shares on the rise, but concerns remain…

Having previously remained at around the levels of my previous update, shares in e-procurement software provider, EU Supply (EUSP) have spiked in the last few days – from just above 4p to a current 6.5p. The following reviews…

Exclusive: Teathers - Jason Drummond says accounts will be far better than critics say

Embattled Teathers Financial (TEA) boss Jason Drummond has admitted that the late filing of accounts was a mistake but, in a long conversation last night, he said that people who assume he is hiding something will have a big shock.

WAND

WANdisco – CFO departure time confirmed, as my discounted confetti ahoy call has also been…

It has been announced that CFO of unique cash-burning machine (sorry, “unique… provider of enterprise-ready, non-stop software solutions that enable globally distributed organizations to meet today's data challenges of secure storage, scalability and continuous availability”) WANdisco plc (WAND), Paul Harrison, is to join JUST EAT plc with effect from 26th September. He is stated to be “looking forward to joining”. I bet…

Exclusive: Boxhill: the Court papers Lord Razzall is trying to hush up

In today's corporate update from Boxhill (BOX) the company mentions the fact that it faces a winding up order but without actually using the words. Boss Lord Tim Razzall is trying to keep this quiet and has taken legal action to gag the other side and stop them talking about it. sadly for Lord Timmy, I have obtained the court papers which I have decided to publish.

Flip Flop Ben Turney submits EGM request for New World - wants cull of useless old guard directors

There are five directors at New World Oil & Gas (NEW), two new regime (Adam Reynolds and Nick Lee) and three of the utterly loathed and discredited old guard who spunked £33 million of other folks cash on deals that were either fraudulent (the fake Sheikh) or just crap. How Messrs Einchcomb, Polakoff and Sztyk have the brass neck to hang around like a lingering mega fart defies belief. But not for much longer.

SPGH

Superglass Holdings – shares slumping as cash position has done likewise. Hmmm…

I previously wrote on Superglass Holdings (SPGH) towards the end of last year HERE and now update with the shares currently fast-falling back to the levels of then…

A new Reality TV show at the Greek Hovel: Lots of snakes & AIM CEOs having to do real work

Today I plunged into the wildest parts of the land at the Greek Hovel. In the far corner the olive trees are immersed in frigana, long grass and bushes. If I was a snake that is where I'd live. No question. Tentatively I plunged in to prune but I looked nervously around me every step of the way. There are some areas where the plants are just so dense that I don't dare head in. I will need to call fearless George the Albanian to "assist me" with those. Or maybe I tackle them in December when the snakes are hibernating? Anyhow, as I pruned I thought of all those AIM CEOs sitting at their desks in London, earning vast salaries for shuffling paper around.

ISAT

The Problem May Be Fixed with Inmarsat, Jim. Ahead Warp Factor 6.

Hello Share Squeezers. I have been a big fan of Inmarsat (ISAT) the  big satellite company. Over the last few years, it has made me loadsamoney. But as Uncle Tom rightly said a few months ago, the story has since changed to the company’s detriment. And the shares have lost a third of their value over the last half year.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Drown all cat haters including my brother in law

I am back in from the fields where I have been labouring in 40 degree plus heat. Today I offer a few thoughts on Circassia (CIR) and the risks folks just dont seem to appreciate of a) biotech and b) backing stock selections of star fund managers, in this case Neil Woodford - who incidentally is clearly a very talented chap. I look at Gulf Keystone (GKP), XCite Energy (XEL), China Frauds and then in some detail at Blur (BLUR). For further info on its brain dead dickhead of a PR man Dominic Barretto go HERE
