Berkeley Energia $25-30 million placing - back to that Peel Hunt buy note
In the disclosures at the back of Tuesday's detailed buy note on Berkeley Energia (BKY) by Peel Hunt which the broker wants me to take down, it states that the company is a corporate client but does NOT say that "5. Peel Hunt is Broker to this Company and therefore provides investment services to the Company" As it happens it is joint broker.. The note is HERE and as you can see with the shares at 47p Peel Hunt said that they were a buy worth 98p to 159p Three days later there is a placing of $25-30 million at 45p and guess who is building the book?

One law for millionaires, one for little people - do Share Centre's pleb customers know its boss thinks this way?
And debate rages on about yesterday's decision by three old men to deny what 17.4 million of us what we were told on a ballot paper on June 23rd, that which we would be given: Brexit. Wading into the debate is Gavin Oldham the founder and boss of The Share Centre a man now exposed as being on the side of the 1% (people like him) and not the 99% (you, me and his customers - the "little people"). Oldham tweets:

Andalas: the 4th Ramptastic Announcement in 6 working days - PLACING AHOY
Hey Justin the Clown if you want to average down in Andalas Energy (ADL) get out of the homeless shelter and open an account with Cornhill Capital because its placing ahoy time here. Not only is the company almost out of cash but its shares are slipping (now more than 90% down since THAT podcast) at 0.11p to sell. When shares slide after 4 ramptastic RNS statements in 6 working days, supplemented by the Clown ramping away at the Vox vipers nest of rampers, you know what is afoot. And so today we have some more non news dressed up as a world changing event.

Igas kicks the can, but not very far
Yesterday afternoon AIM-listed and over indebted Igas Energy (IGAS) announced that it had sold some of the secured bonds hitherto held in treasury and that this has now shored up its finances such that it now no longer expects a breach of its daily liquidity covenant in 2016. Good news? Er, no – this simply kicks the can down the road (and not very far at that).

LGO Energy Q3 update: piss poor natch
I almost feel sorry for LGO Energy (LGO) CEO Neil Ritson. He just seems to have rotten luck. This time last year a contractor dropped some kit down a bore hole. Wind on 12 months and Hurricane Matthew has caused a few "problemos". Neil, put a few extra quid in the collection box this Sunday, you need the Almighty back on side for today's third quarter update is piss poor and begs the statement "placing ahoy."

Dialight – despite update that trading “remains in line”, shares down…
Previously writing on LED lighting technology company Dialight (DIA), I was bearish on the back of its half-year results in August. The shares have since risen, but are currently 5% lower, at 675p, on the back of a “Trading Statement” announcement…

Why The Curtain Might Fall on Cinema Shares
Hello Share Samplers. At least one bank seems to like Cineworld (CINE) shares, but I won’t be buying into the company, nor any other cinema chain for that matter. The shares rose a bit this week when the Honkers Bonkers bank awarded them a ‘buy’ recommendation with a target of 720p. Today the share price is 540p, so that would be quite a jump.

Gattaca – full-year numbers suggest compelling value, but is it?
Shares in engineering and technology recruitment group, Gattaca (GATC) are currently 15% lower today, at sub 300p, despite a results announcement emphasising “profits in line with market expectations”. Hmmm…

Sirius - funding complete at bottom end of range but...
It is a trifle disappointing that the $860 million funding by Sirius (SXX) has been completed with the £370 million equity component right at the bottom end of the 20p-30p range. The shares went ex on the 2 for 25 open offer at 8 AM today and given the pricing of the fund raise, and the shares going ex, the stock has slipped to 29p.

Dear Blur: Excuses are like A'holes we all have them and no-one cares: the fat lady is warming up for you
A Q3 Trading statement today from long term dog blur (BLUR) is pretty dismal and the shares have crashed another 34% to 3.375p. Putting that in context - this company listed 49 months ago at 82p and has been a dog ever since. Surely it is only a matter of time before the vet arrives with needle to put this sick puppy out of its misery.

Why I stay short of Avocet
I see that Avocet Mining (AVM) which I warned in May and August this year imploded the other day as it admitted that insolvency could be looming. If, like Xcite (XEL), about which I wrote the other day, it does enter administration, the shares are still a compelling sell. This, I believe is by far the most likely outcome and I stay short. The company's words in the recent statement are explicit:

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: can someone teach Welsh git Justin the Clown how to read?
Poor old Justin the Clown is still talking cobblers about Andalas (ADL). Perhapds it is the strain of now having to live in a cardboard box but the poor fellow now seems unable to read so I put him straight. Then it is onto Halosource (HALO) where Neil Woodford is taking another big hit which reminds me that Nigel Somerville and I are doing a special session on Woodford disasters at UK Investor Show on April 1 2017. To celebrate this we have 20 complimentary investor class seats to hand out today. Just go to www.UKInvestorShow.com and book using the promotional code NOVUKSP - book now! Elsewhere on bearcast I discuss Xtract Resources (XTR) and Gattaca (GATC).

HaloSource – “Trading Update” = Loss & Cash Warning, desperate strategic review ahoy…
Having consistently over the last year warned on shares in HaloSource (HALO) – most recently HERE – I note they currently more than halved today, heading towards 1p, on the back of “an update on trading ahead of the year ending 31 December 2016”…

Boxhill Technologies: Where are the Emex accounts, M’Lord? Not hiding anything scary are you?
As a bit of a big kid, I look forward to Halloween each year with the streets alive with trick and treaters and lit pumpkins everywhere brightening up the cold winter evenings. This year I had even more to look forward to as all of the subsidiary accounts of Boxhill Technologies (BOX) were due on that date too and I knew that they wouldn’t disappoint.

Tern – disposal racks up mega profit with lightning speed
You have to hand it to AIM-listed jam-tomorrow investment company Tern plc (TERN), this morning’s disposal news is a cracking outcome. Having bought a few bits of the now defunct Flexiant business out of administration over the summer for £75,000 we are told today that one of the divisions has been sold for $500,000. That is on top of a previously reported (in excess of) £90,000 of unpaid bills which were chased up. The only puzzle is why shares in Tern have slipped on the news, albeit only by a small amount at time of writing. Why the disappointment?!

Xtract Resources – Funding RNS obfuscation at its worst: disappointing
I was starting to warm to Colin Bird at Xtract Resources (XTR) with his decisive action and straight-talking, although today’s hugely disappointing funding RNS which needs about five reads and three espressos to understand leaves me feeling cold, although I’m guessing Beaufort Securities and Beaumont Cornish should shoulder some of the blame.

The Vexed Moral Question of Share-Buying -2
Hello Share Keepers. There were interesting responses to my piece which followed Uncle Tom’s thoughts on Premaitha (NIPT). And there’s probably a bit more to say on the wider picture of buying shares in companies which are doing things you may be uneasy about for your own personal, moral reasons.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: I have a proposition for PR fecking genius Steffi
I start with a quick discussion on how we in the UK just don't get US politics and explain why Donald Trump will win - in fact he is already 8% ahead you read it HERE first! Then I explain why Peel Hunt is probably going to bully me with a lawyers letter regarding the Berkeley Energia (BKY) note HERE. My proposition for Steffi is not to make an honest woman of her...that would be going too far but concerns her worthless client Golden Saint Resources (GSR) and is prompted by her unhappiness at my earlier Bearcast Special HERE. I look at Andalas (ADL), Greka Drilling (GDL) and BlueRock Diamonds (BRD). I am now trying to renew my father's parking permit with Warwickshire County Council and have been kept hanging on a line for ages by the incompetent bastards. String em up with piano wire..
