Notes from Underground – Most read articles for the week ending 18 Mar 2023

By Darren Atwater | Sunday 19 March 2023

The most-read non-Tom non-Quiz article this week is Revisiting My Slam-Dunk Sells For 2022 - What A Bunch Of Dogs! by Nigel Somerville at No 2 or No 4 including Bearcasts.

The most read ShareProphets stories this week were:

  1. BREAKING: Who have the City of London Police arrested in raids on the frauds Eden Pharma and Aries Robotics, its ouzo time again at Sheriff Towers!
I have repeatedly warned about Eden Pharma. The folks targeted by boiler rooms pushing it and Aries were also targeted by folks raising £65 million for One True View and Appbox Media. As you can see below in a letter sent out to Aries and Eden investors the fuzz have swooped on multiple addresses and arrested one 40 year old.

  2. Revisiting My Slam-Dunk Sells For 2022 - What A Bunch Of Dogs!
I see that my portfolio of slam-dunk sells for 2022 has nose-dived since year-end. But I fear there is far worse to come ...

  3. Breaking EXCLUSIVE - Reabold has received, but not disclosed, a bid approach
Since fighting off a sack the board GM in November, Reabold Resources (RBD) has seen its share price slump from 0.28p to just 0.19p. But there is good news.

  4. Spotting "winners" with the next Chancellor, Labour's Rachel Reeves
I have already demonstrated that Rachel Reeves MP is perhaps the most economically illiterate person in Halitosis Hall, and that takes some doing. An obsession of politicians is always "picking winners" in the private sector. And so, yesterday, Ms Reeves joined the man who did not prosecute Jimmy Savile, visiting a company I have covered many times before...

  5. Dishonest journalism or bad journalism or both: Ian Cowie of the Sunday Times on Versarien
At least Cowie, one of Britain’s most senior personal finance journalists, is honest that he is a poltroon, admitting to buying shares in Versarien (VRS) at 177p. They closed Friday at just 3.5p although in his column today where he explains why he is hanging on for a bounce, Cowie says the shares are 5p. But the dishonesty of the journalism is epic.

  6. Ariana – Gold News From Kiziltepe And Elsewhere
AIM-listed Gold producer in Turkey Ariana Resources (AAU) has been splashing out on the news front of late. The latest tit-bits came yesterday, Gold production targets for this year and, yesterday, news of the award of exploration licenses at Ariana’s Project Leopard in Turkey.

  7. Letter to AIM Regulation & SP Angel – did Versarien lie about its CEO resigning?
On Friday 10 March Versarien (VRS) announced that its disgraced CEO Neill Ricketts had resigned. It said it would determine the management structure going forward and Ricketts was not listed as a contact. But was that true?

  8. Chill Brands placing to an institution – my arse it is.
At 2.45 PM yesterday Chill Brands (CHLL) announced that it had raised £560,000 at 3.5p. It claims that this “followed the receipt of an unsolicited offer from the financial institution concerned.” Hmmm so at c6% of the enlarged equity we will see a Tr1 soon? There is more chance of Cheryl Cole wandering down my drive in her Birthday suit demanding my sole and undivided attention.

  9. The View From The Montana Log-Cabin As Gold Gently Regains Ground and as SVB goes bust
Gold finished the week at $1868, up from last week’s $1857 by a small amount but an impressive move given the decline back down towards $1800 midweek. Is this a double-bottom I see before me?

  10. Breaking EXCLUSIVE - Reabold lies to investors on an industrial scale as it sort of acknowledges my takeover scoop
Yesterday, just after the market shut with the shares at 0.19p I revealed that penny dreadful Reabold Resources (RBD) had received a takeover approach. In an RNS today Reabold describes this as “speculation” on an unnamed website. But then it admits it has received an approach. So not speculation then? That is a minor lie but now I can reveal how evil PR spinners at Camarco have crafted a statement which is just a pack of lies. I have rarely seen such blatant lying.

The most-listened to Bearcasts this week were:

  1. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Neill Ricketts and the £200,000 scandal & will SVB's demise whack Yourgene and Aferian? Which other listed companies are vulnerable? I start with Versarien (VRS), the potentially £200,000 scandal and Neill Ricketts. Then to the demise of Silicon Valley Bank, a bubble blow up with associated crime and the wider ramifications: which listed companies could it screw up?

  2. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Another disaster from Andrew Monk and an excruciating video from the disgraced broker I start with a few thoughts on getting old as Olaf suffers her last ever Oxford tutorial. Then it is onto SVB, an apology to Euro loon Jonathan Price – let this be the last – and a few words on Aferian (AFRN). Then, after today's ouzo moment as the fuzz arrest a fraudster whose company I have exposed, onto the disaster that is Tungsten West (TUN). This company was IPO'd by the Monkey and VSA to monetize and asset first discovered in 1867 and which has flopped more times since 1916 than Monk might care to admit. I discuss its financial woes, VSA’s research coverage and bring you a video featuring Monk dressed as a road builder and celebrating the endorsement of Liz Truss. It is excruciating. Then I cover Ariana Resources (AAU), Condor Gold (CNR) and Chesterfield Resources (CHF) and how some disposals are just so misleading.

  3. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Virgin Wines will surely wither and die - another IPO disgrace from 2021 In today's podcast I look at Credit Suisse and the banking crisis, bitcoin, gold, Argo Blockchain (ARB), Online Blockchain (OBC), Mode Global (MODE), Okyo Pharma (OKYO), Virgin Wines (WINO) and Versarien (VRS) in light of the bombshell here earlier today.

  4. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: forward selling at Versarien & Verditek, lying by Reabold and the countdown to insolvency at Supply@ME Capital I start pondering retirement, then look at Credit Suisse and Gary vs Chris on buying shares right now. Then it is onto Versarien (VRS), Verditek (VDTK),lying by Reabold (RBD) on its takeover bid, Cineworld (CINE), Ben's Creek (BEN) and that scumbag Adam Wilson and the fraud Supply@ME Capital (SYME)

  5. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: the dash to trash I start with a discussion of St Patrick's day and drinking. I shall not be doing that today but after another training walk for Woodlarks early tomorrow I might have a few while watching Ireland, I hope, trounce England. Please feel free to donate to Rogue Bloggers HERE as you conisider my 10 mile walk to Wrexham and back tomorrow. Then I look at Bidstack (BIDS), Versarien (VRS) and Genedrive (GDR).

  6. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Forgive the rant, at least it is data based & does not involve money trees The Mrs broke the picket line yesterday. Actually there was no picket line, University Lecturers on strike are too lazy to do even that. So I start with a data based rant on greedy and lazy and deceitful public sector workers. Then it is onto DFS Furtniture (DFS), Amigo (AMGO), Wildcat Petroleum (WCAT, Pineapple Power (PNPL) and the fraud Supply@ME Capital (SYME)

  7. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: The Rozzers want to interview meIn today's Bearcast I discuss Genedrive (GDR), Wildcat Petroleum (WCAT), UK Oil & Gas (UKOG), David Lenigas and - to delight the morons - why the City of London rozzers want to interview me.
