Versarien bailout placing at just 10p – and it is not enough!

As I warned you, my analysis showed that Versarien (VRS) was going to run out of cash by Christmas. And so today, after shameless ramping this website exposed HERE, HERE and HERE, a bailout placing is announced, though raising just £1.85 million gross, call it £1.7 million net, at just 10p. Where does one start?

Gooch & Housego – full-year results vindicate prior caution here

Previously writing on photonic components and systems manufacturer Gooch & Housego (GHH), in August with the shares falling below 700p I concluded that the flux together with the valuation suggested to still avoid / sell. The shares last closed at 463p, and what of them currently being still further down today on the back of results for the company’s year ended 30th September 2022?

Home REIT - why the Chairwoman Lynne Fennah has to go NOW!

It is probably deemed sexist to say this but the chairwoman of Home REIT (HOME) Lynne Fennah has to be fired now. Adding to the work of Fraser Perring and Boatman Capital I offer a few more thoughts on this matter.

Fulcrum related party loan note deal looks terrible – no good reason to buy with dilution to come at a 75% discount

If you’re a small company in need of cash to keep the lights on, then the current market isn’t a good one in which to be trying to raise capital, and is leading to some truly horrendous deals for existing investors.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast – Don't worry I'm not ignoring the elephant in the room called O'Hara

I start and end with some admin matters. The one at the start is the Woodlarks Christmas grotto appeal, if you have a spare fiver or tenner (or more!) please donate HERE. Then I look at a conversation with a small cap vet warning of bailout placings at a 75% discount on the way. I discuss Optibiotix (OPTI), Skinbiotherapeutics (SBTX), Vast Resources (VAST), Versarien (VRS), Yourgene (YGEN) and AJ Bell (AJB)

Disgraced Dominic White’s Zamaz – piss poor results and ludicrous valuation

Zamaz (ZAMZ), the Standard listed vehicle of Dominic White of the fraud Supply@ME Capital (SYME) infamy, has published extracts from its annual report for the year ended 31 August 2022 and promised that the full results would be available on its website at Zamaz.tech. At the time of writing this article, the website simply states “coming soon” which for a company which states “Zamaz' proven expertise in digital brand building” is rather laughable.

Versarien Loan Rescheduled: another £5m of Tory sleaze vicar?

Make no mistake, today’s news from Versarien (VRS) is a £5 million dollop of sleaze from the Tories. It also suggests that the bailout discounted placing is coming soon. To what seems wholly corrupt, first.

Another CEO at Vodafone realises the company is a big yawn

Back in July I observed, not for the first time, that “the deep yawn continues at Vodafone (VOD)”. Since then, the multinational telecommunications company has continued to perform disappointingly. And today the current CEO has decided to exit (quite soon). Interesting.

AIM Market November stats are dire – numbers heading for 19 year lows

The, self-described, world’s most successful growth market, aka the AIM Casino, had a dire November and December will be worse, the sewer is heading for 19 year lows in terms of listed companies.

Evil Banksta says I got my Shield numbers wrong – but he still thinks it’s screwed

I plead guilty. I recorded the bearcast HERE the other day when I was ill and so marginally delirious so I may have erred when it comes to Shield Therapeutics (STX). Evil Banksta is kind enough to assist me with my maths and he writes:

BREAKING: Now Boatman Capital savages Home REIT & demands boardroom changes

First it was Viceroy Research savaging Home REIT (HOME), now Boatman Capital, the entity that exposed Babcock (BAB) and Argo Blockchain (ARB) has joined the battle. It claims to be long not short but its letter to Home below is damning and makes it clear that heads need to roll. Enjoy.

This Bouncy Broker Rings the Bell for Results and Is Worth Sounding Out

Hello Share Pickers. This old punter has just become a customer of the broker AJ Bell (AJB). I know nothing about its competence in being an ordinary self-select share broker, so I’ll stick with my present providers, but my financial advisor Alice rates the company highly as a customer-friendly and efficient platform for bonds and similar financial products.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: a vital Christmas question for ALL of you as I discuss a £250m blow-up in waiting

I start with a question for you ALL. Answers please in the comments section below. Then there is a detailed analysis of the cash position of Dev Clever (DEV) capitalised at a suspension price of £249 million. Follow my logic, I reckon it is surviving only by not paying bills and is bust.  I explain all. Please take note shareholders in Asimilar (ASLR). I hope it does go bust as that will pose serious questions for a list of colourful characters who I name and shame in the podcast.

Five Slam-Dunk Sells For 2022 – Early December Update As Finish Line Approaches

A few days late for the end of November, here is the latest update on my five slam-dunk sells for 2022. They were: AIM-listed Barkby (BARK), Tern (TERN), Trafalgar Property (TRAF), URU Metals (URU) and sub-Standard-listed AIQ (AIQ). Of those, I called time on Trafalgar Property at 0.25p to sell having said sell at 0.6p – one winner in the bag – but how are the rest doing?

Graphic: The price of gasoline around the world

Most people suspect that the UK has some of the highest petrol prices in the world. The truth is: we do! Another good illustration from Visual Capitalist, at US $7.20 per gallon, we're at the top – along with most of Europe. The US is US $4.00 per gallon, just slightly cheaper than China. Iran charges US $0.20.
